LISD - Livingston ISD will be having Spring Break during the week of March 15-19, 2010. Have a safe and relaxing break with your family. School will resume on Monday, March 22, 2010.


65th Annual Trinity-Neches Livestock Show

The 65th Annual Trinity-Neches Livestock Show will be held March 23rd to 26th at the Barney Wiggins Memorial Arena. Many Livingston I.S.D. students will be competing in this week long event. In addition to the livestock shows, activities will include arts, crafts, a photography show, an agriculture mechanics show, rodeo and sweetheart contest, livestock auction, and presentations of scholarships and awards. We invite everyone to join us in making the 65th Trinity-Neches Livestock Show the best ever. Click Here for a schedule of events!


Science Trivia Challenge

LJH - Eighth grade students at Livingston Junior High have been participating in daily trivia questions in their science classes. Students are having fun engaging in the academic competition. Students who answer correctly get the opportunity to have their name drawn for daily prizes. Science teacher Michelle Brumley said, “This has been a wonderful tool to review science topics from 6th, 7th, and 8th grade that will be covered on their Science TAKS test on April 29th.”


Firefighters and State Troopers Visit TCE Students

TCE - Through their weekly story, TCE students learned about firefighters and the work they do. The students read about fire trucks, ladders, hoses, and water pumps. Fire Chief Taylor and fellow firefighter Moeller, visited with students about fire safety. Firefighter Moeller dressed in his fire suit and everyone got a personal tour of the fire truck. First graders also had a special visit from local State Troopers. DPS Trooper Sammi Lattner and Trooper Greg Sanchez spoke with the students about the duties of a State Trooper and visited with them about bullying. The highlight of the visit for the children was the sirens and lights.


PRE’s Pizza, Pizza, Pizza!

PRE - Second and third grade UIL students and teachers from Pine Ridge and Timber Creek celebrated their UIL accomplishments at CiCi's Pizza. Students enjoyed visiting with each other, eating pizza and playing games. PRE teachers are so proud of all their hard work!


Crankin' in Carbo

PRE - Miss Murphy's second grade class at PRE love to cozy up with a good book, especially when someone else is reading it to them!  This is the students’ time to take a break from working and enjoy a relaxing good story.  Students use their ‘Smokin' Story Strategies’ to practice their active listening skills.  Once they finish listening to the story, the students take their Accelerated Reading (AR) test and work toward achieving their AR goals. The Pine Ridge second grade students’ ‘Crankin' in Carbo’ reading program helps them to reach their AR goals.


Brilliant Bb Words

PRE - The week of March 8th, Ms. Freeman’s Kindergarten class learned about the letter Bb. The class brainstormed together to come up with words that begin with a Bb; the class came up with some awesome words. Some of the awesome words were: back, burp rag, bounty hunter, backpack, boxing, back, and break. Way to go class on coming up with some brilliant words!
