Creating Summary Cartoons
Submitted by, Valerie Shores, Livingston Intermediate School
Livingston Intermediate School - Students in Ms. Shores' fourth grade reading class learned about paraphrasing and summarizing after reading the folktale "The Fox and the Guinea Pig", translated by Mary Ann Newman. In groups, students had to select what they thought were the most important events from the story and then create a poster with cartoons of those events. Each cartoon had a caption explaining its action. The students were creative and turned out cartoons that were colorful and nicely done. Great job! |
