Timber Creek Elementary Makes Prestigious List
Submitted by Gregg Faith, LISD Communications Department, August 22, 2008
Livingston -  The Texas Business and Education Coalition has named Timber Creek Elementary one of their 2008 Honor Roll schools.  This award which is given to only 4% of the state's 8000 schools places TCE among the elite in continued educational growth. The TBEC Honor Roll is the most prestigious award for sustained, academic excellence in Texas.  It recognizes schools that have demonstrated three years of consistent, high performance in all subjects compared to other schools serving similar student populations. TBEC Honor Roll schools have the highest percentage of students performing at the state’s most rigorous standard-commended- in every subject. Timber Creek Elementary has truly earned a place on the Honor Roll through hard work and student achievement over an extended period of time.

The TBEC will recognize all the Honor Roll Schools on Monday, November 10, 2008 at an Awards Reception (6:00 pm) and Dinner (7:00pm) in San Antonio sponsored by HEB and IBM.

Congratulations to all of our students and staff members!

School Cafeterias at Livingston ISD ‘Serve’ Parents Online.
Submitted by Brenda Holden, Livingston ISD, August 22, 2008

Livingston ISD, has implemented “Lunch Money Now”, an addition to the point-of-sale software provided by Systems Design of Corpus Christi, Texas.  Systems Design specializes in food service management systems for school nutrition programs.

Lunch Money Now permits parents to access their student's cafeteria account via the Internet. Linked from Livingston’s home page (www.livingstonisd.com), it provides the ability to view the student’s account balance, view/print the student's recent purchase history and make deposits to the child’s meal account using a debit/credit card.  Deposits are recorded on a secure (SSL) site and are typically available on the student's account within the hour of the transaction. Lunch Money Now allows deposits to multiple accounts with a single credit card transaction.

Livingston ISD joins over 100 other school districts in Texas using Lunch Money Now.  This service has been popular with students and parents alike because of its convenience.  District employees like it because it saves time and reduces the need to handle cash.

A new feature implemented last fall allows parents to subscribe for e-mail warnings when their child’s account dips below a specified threshold.  With the help of Lunch Money Now, Livingston ISD is now ready to ‘serve’ you!
