"Back to School" Dinner held for LHS faculty
Submitted by Brenda Black, Livingston High School, August 25, 2008
Livingston - Livingston - The LHS Faculty had their annual “Back to School” Dinner on Wednesday, August 20th at Moseley’s Gym.  Ellen May was very kind to allow the LHS Faculty to use her gym for this special event. Over sixty people including faculty, their spouses, and children attended. The meal was from Bodacious Barbeque and various staff members brought dessert. Adults and children alike enjoyed the gym with its tree house, trampoline, and balance beams. This was a great opportunity for new staff members to meet and socialize with returning staff in a casual setting.  The entire LHS faculty would like to express their appreciation to Ellen May for the use of her gym.

School Cafeterias at Livingston ISD ‘Serve’ Parents Online.
Submitted by Brenda Holden, Livingston ISD, August 25, 2008

Livingston ISD, has implemented “Lunch Money Now”, an addition to the point-of-sale software provided by Systems Design of Corpus Christi, Texas.  Systems Design specializes in food service management systems for school nutrition programs.

Lunch Money Now permits parents to access their student's cafeteria account via the Internet. Linked from Livingston’s home page (www.livingstonisd.com), it provides the ability to view the student’s account balance, view/print the student's recent purchase history and make deposits to the child’s meal account using a debit/credit card.  Deposits are recorded on a secure (SSL) site and are typically available on the student's account within the hour of the transaction. Lunch Money Now allows deposits to multiple accounts with a single credit card transaction.

Livingston ISD joins over 100 other school districts in Texas using Lunch Money Now.  This service has been popular with students and parents alike because of its convenience.  District employees like it because it saves time and reduces the need to handle cash.

A new feature implemented last fall allows parents to subscribe for e-mail warnings when their child’s account dips below a specified threshold.  With the help of Lunch Money Now, Livingston ISD is now ready to ‘serve’ you!
