Christmas Parade
Submitted by Paula Franklin, LISD GT Department
The first, second & third grade GT students spread joy and love around Livingston before the holidays. Each student created a “float” to pull in a spirited parade. Mrs. Stark played her guitar and led the students in Christmas carols through the elementary schools, several retirement homes, First National Bank and the Escapees Care center. Everyone enjoyed the children and their wonderful Christmas spirit. Mrs. Franklin and her students would like to thank Mrs. Stark for leading their singing and Mrs. Frers and Mrs. Alexander for helping chaperone this event.

From Mozambique to Brazil:  Geography is Fun!
Submitted by Gayle Colburn, Timber Creek Elementary
Mrs. Colburn’s and Ms. Taylor’s classes learn about the continents of Africa and South America through the travels of Captain Stovall and his crew.  Captain Stovall sent these postcards to his two boys and their classes. His ship, the MV Tina Litrico, returned to the United States with a load of sugar from Maputo, Mozambique. The Tina Litrico is currently in route to Recife, Brazil to pick up another full cargo of raw sugar. Our kindergarten class is learning about the continent of South America and the country of Brazil. Brazil is the biggest country in South America. Most people in Brazil speak Portuguese. The Amazon is the longest river in the world. It flows through Brazil to the ocean.

I had the pleasure of teaching Jeremy Bailey in my English III class last year, and I recognized him as a star student. Now, Jeremy is a senior in my English IV class, and he still exemplifies the qualities of a star student. I expect to hear great things about him in the future! - English IV, Brenda Black

Livingston High School
What can I say about Will Gresham?  I recognized this young man as a star student when he was a Junior in my English III class last year, and I am happy to recognize him again this year as a senior in English IV as a star student. Will is very respectful and eager to help in anyway that he can. He is hardworking and a delightful student to have in class.
