Time on a Cap
Submitted by Lisa VanWagner, Pine Ridge Elementary
How does your watch tell time? Does your time piece have a face or is it digital? No matter how you tell it, First Graders at PRE practice telling time by the hour and half hour by matching the face of time with its digital counterpart printed on bottle caps. Wrest band time pieces made out of the tops of milk jugs and bottle caps are worn throughout the day to help identify the correct time for various activities. They are even used to help predict lapsed and/or future times.

Festival of the Arts Planned for March
Submitted by Lacey Bookman, Livingston High School Journalism
The newspaper staff will be publishing a literary magazine in the spring. In preparation we will also be hosting a Festival of the Arts on March 10, 2008.
The festival will be a collection of studentwork, including ORIGINAL photography, drawings, paintings, poetry & prose, musical compositions, theatrical acts, and dance. All students are encouraged to participate and enter their original work.
In addition to students’ work being displayed, the work will also be eligible for voting contests. Awards will be given in each category.
Each contest does have a deadline for entries, so make sure that students check the deadlines and get their work entered in time.
Since the Festival of the Arts will take place in the evening, students will also be encouraged to bring friends and family to see and hear everything. |
