Hospitality Rooms Brightens TAKS Spirits
Submitted by Gay Jefferies, Timber Creek Elementary
Timber Creek Elementary - We all know how taxing “TAKS” day can be. Mildred Clifton made TAKS day a little better for our testing teachers on the TCE campus. Mildred with the help of our teachers and special areas staff set up a “hospitality room”. The room was equipped with soft lighting, soothing music, comfortable chairs, stress balls and lots of delicious goodies. Our third grade teachers were pleasantly surprised with this special treat. We appreciate everyone who made TAKS day go so smoothly.

Center (game 17, record 5-12, district 4-9)
Tuesday Mar 3rd, the Livingston Lions Boys’ soccer team hosted the Center Roughriders. The much improved Roughriders were more than the Lions could handle. Livingston was only able to penetrate the Center defense for one goal, a penalty kick by Adam Ghaemmaghami, en route to a 4-1 Roughrider victory.
Henderson (game 18, record 5-13, district 4-10)
Friday Mar 7th, the Livingston Lions Boys’ soccer team traveled to take on the Henderson Lions. Livingston played valiantly, outplaying their counterparts from Henderson but, were unable to overcome the loss of goalkeeper Caleb Washington, who was unable to play, due to illness. The final score of 10-3 was very misleading.

UIL Editorial writing teaches students to argue a point effectively while remaining open to other views. Nastia and Jessica came in first and second place for the eighth grade. Steve Goin came in second for seventh grade and Bethany Irvine came in first place in the sixth grade division. Super Job!!! - UIL Editorial Writing
