Livingston ISD - Kindergarten Registration Round Up

Livingston ISD - On Wednesday, May 7, 2008 from 8:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. parents can begin registering their kindergarten students for the 2008-2009 school year in Lion Country.

Pine Ridge Elementary, 1200 Mill Ridge (if your last name ends in) A – L
Timber Creek Elementary, 701 North Willis (if your last name ends in) M – Z

These locations are for registration purposes only.  Campus assignment letters will be mailed in August.

You will need to bring the following:  birth certificate, updated shot record, proof of residency (utility bill with name and 911 address), drivers license, and social security card.

Livingston ISD - Summer School Information

Livingston ISD - The Optional Extended Year Services for the summer of 2008 will begin on June 9, 2008 and continue through July 3, 2008.  The Optional Extended Year Program will be held at the Pine Ridge Elementary Campus.  (K-5th grades only) and for grades 6th thru 12th grade the program will be at Livingston High School. The program will be 4 hours a day, four days a week. When signing up, students must sign up for the full 16 day program.

The instructional day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon

7:30- 8:00 
Breakfast will be served at the Pine Ridge Campus for grades PK- 5th and Livingston High School for 6th through 12th grades

8:00-12:00                  
Class time

12:00-12:30               
Lunch will be served at the Pine Ridge Campus for grades PK-5th and Livingston High School for 6th through 12th grades

Meals will be coordinated through the Summer National Lunch and Breakfast Program as permitted.
Transportation will be provided through the use of four buses picking up at collection points throughout the District. 

Parents must agree to the following rules in order for the child to participate:
* Students must attend everyday.
* Discipline problems will be removed from the program.

Celebrating Earth Day

Pine Ridge Elementary - To celebrate Earth Day,  Mrs. Smith's first grade class at Pine Ridge Elementary used their litter to make "Litter Critters".  They ask everyone to join in and help them take care of planet earth!!!!


Last Wild-N-Wacky Friday

Pine Ridge Elementary - Students at PRE recently participated in the last Wild-n-Wacky Friday before the TAKS testing.  The kids showed how working together makes a successful team.  The students at Pine Ridge worked as a team this week to “ride the next big wave” and “Surf through TAKS.”


Chickens Hatch at Pine Ridge

Pine Ridge Elementary - Wow! What an exciting day! Pine Ridge 1st graders have been anxiously waiting 21 days for their chickens to hatch. The big day finally arrived on April 21st with several baby chicks making their appearance one by one. The kids were so amazed to see life beginning for the new chicks.

Honors Choir Performs for Dunbar Alumni

Timber Creek Elementary- The Livingston Honors Choir performed for the Dunbar Alumni association Reunion.  The Scholarship Banquet was held April 12.  The Choir featured soloest, Madison Reed, Jasmine Randolph and Donta Stephens.  The Choir is preparing for the East Texas Children's Choral Festival in Huntsville and for their Spring tour of Livingston.

Early Voting Information
Early voting by personal appearance will be conducted each weekday in the Livingston City Hall, located at 200 West Church Street, Livingston, Texas,  77351, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2008 through Friday, May 2, 2008 and 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, May 5, 2008 through Tuesday, May 6,2008.

Brendan Matthews is a super theatre student!  He is ready every day to do whatever it takes to be a success.  He is always the first student to offer to help if anyone asks for assistance.  During our rehearsals for Taming of the Shrew, Brendan is focused on the play, his part, and is not distracted by anything or anyone.  He takes the initiative to take care of things for the betterment of the play.  He is a Star Student and a star actor!  Whoo Hooo, Brendan! - Performing Theatre, Sixth Grade, Marion LeBlanc

Ingredients

1/2 cup milk
1 container (6 ounces) Yoplait® Original peach low-fat yogurt
1 medium fresh peach, peeled, pitted and cut up
Ground nutmeg

Instructions
1. Place milk, yogurt and peach in blender. Cover and blend on high speed about 30 seconds or until smooth.
2. Pour into glasses. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
