Directions to Moorehead Stadium:
Take 105 into Conroe. After you cross under IH-45, go right on Longmire Road and continue to Wilson Road. Home team parking is located at the intersection of Wilson Rd. and Longmire, across the street from the stadium.

Timber Creek Honors Veterans

The children at Timber Creek Elementary presented a music program honoring veterans. Member of the VFW were invited as well as family members that served our country. The children understood this was a time to say 'Thank you.' Posters and essays were presented to the VFW and all branches of the military were recognized. The students closed the program by singing the 'Preamble to the Constitution.'

Third Grade Field Trip

Timber Creek Elementary third graders went to see The Super Scientific Circus on Tuesday, November 13th at the Conroe Convention Center. We watched Mr. Fish and Mr. Trent the Mime perform magic tricks that were later explained through science. The students were taught how to recreate these “tricks” at home. Third graders learned about gravity, light, air pressure, sonic booms, boomerangs , and balance. It was educational and exceptionally funny. We had great weather for a pinic at Carl Barton Jr. Park in Conroe.

Creating Turkey Baskets

In preparation for the upcoming 5th grade Colonial Feast, Ms. DeWitt's Social Studies classes made Turkey Baskets. These will be used as table decorations as well as for holding the bountiful amounts of food which students and parents will prepare for our fabulous meal. Happy Holidays from the Starfish Team!

How to Carve a Pumpkin Composition

Mrs. LeBlanc’s language arts class had a great time carving pumpkins after writing a “How to” composition on carving a pumpkin. After writing, students took turns reading their compositions to see if they had enough details to correctly instruct Mrs. LeBlanc how to carve a pumpkin.

FCCLA Coat and Can Drive

LJH FCCLA is having a coat and can drive. Students should bring coats and cans to their first period teacher's class. The class that brings the most items will win a breakfast cooked by the LJH FCCLA members.

Working With Fractions

Mrs. Tipton's 9th grade Math class has been working with fractions. They are taking receipes and figuring how to double and triple the ingredients. Makes for an easy way for students to see the benefits of knowing how to add and multiply with fractions.
LHS Students Debate at Whitehouse

On Friday, November 9th, 3 Livingston High School students traveled to a Debate Tournament at Whitehouse High School. The students performed very well against teams that are power-houses at the state level. The students participating were Brady Cullen in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and Saher Hyderali/Nathan Edwards in Cross Examination Debate. The Cross Examination team came away as the first Livingston High School Debaters to have a winning record of 2 and 1. Great Job and Keep Up the Hard Work!
Peoples State Bank Visits LHS FFA

Rusty Sharp, Senior Vice President and Branch Manager of Peoples State Bank in Livingston, visited Ms. Carraway’s Ag Coop class Wednesday, November 14, 2007. He discussed several aspects of banking including checking accounts, savings accounts, CDs, and IRAs/ He also explained credit ratings and gave them some suggestions for building good credit.

Christmas Card Campaign

Several High School classes and LHS student council are creating and collecting Christmas Cards to send to our local servicemen /women through the F.A.I.T.H. Military Support Group. Bea Ellis said that as long as we could get the cards to her by November 30th they can get them sent in the Christmas packages to the troups. Mr. Scoggin has challenged us to have more than 1200 cards!
F.A.I.T.H. Military Support

Bea Ellis visited with LHS Student Council at their meeting on Tuesday, November 6th. She explained the F.A.I.T.H. Military Support Group and the items that they collect to send to our local servicemen and women. The Student Council will be kicking off a collection contest between second period classes beginning Monday, November 12th through Friday, November 30th. The student council will serve breakfast to the winning class who collects the most items.
Blood Drive at LHS

LHS Student Council is sponsoring a blood drive on November 16th from 8:30 until 2:00. Students ages 17 and older may give blood.

7th Grade Basketball Scores
Livingston Junior High Lady Lions took on the Lufkin Lady Panthers in two games last night. The 7th grade Green team fought hard all night but came up short with a final score of 31-42. The top scorers of the game were Tatyanna Nickson with 13 points and Mckenzie Criddle with 10 points. The top hustlers of the night were Randie Crawford, Emily Moore and Sommer Fleetwood. Shadow White and Caitlin Warren also helped the team by scoring a couple baskets.
8th Grade Basketball Scores
The 8th grade GREEN team defeated Lufkin last night 28-25. D'Andrea Youngblood led the team with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Jessica Walding helped clutch the victory with 8 points and 4 rebounds. Jacquelyn King added 6 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist. Cara Leslie also contributed with a freethrow. The green teams will be traveling to Barbers Hill on Monday to face the Lady Eagles. The white teams will be headed to New Waverly and the Cub teams will be going to Groveton.

Chasia Webb and TJ Goolsby are the Sea Horse Team's star students for the month of November. Chasia and TJ do a fantastic job with their school work and being great role models when it comes to school behavior. We appreciate how they go above and beyond what is asked of them. Directions
| 1. |
Spray 10-inch nonstick skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Cook turkey in skillet about 5 minutes, turning once, until brown. |

While turkey is cooking, heat cranberries, orange juice, maple syrup, margarine and cinnamon to boiling in 1-quart saucepan. Arrange sweet potatoes around turkey. Pour orange juice mixture over turkey and potatoes. |

Cover and cook over low heat 10 minutes. Uncover and cook about 5 minutes longer or until sauce is slightly thickened and juice of turkey is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut. |
