Lions Vs. Broncos - November 30, 2007
The 10-2 Livingston Lions will play the Dayton Broncos in the Regional Playoff on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7 PM. Location: Galena Park ISD Stadium - Advance tickets will be on sale in the Athletic Department 8 am to 4 pm. Adults are $5.00, Students $3. Tickets at the gate will be $7.00.

ROTC Students Visit Pine Ridge Elementary

The Livingston High School ROTC came to Pine Ridge Elementary on Friday to participate in Freedom Week. Cadets Chelsie Jackson, Shakeria Crew, and Ethan Maze came in military attire. They were under the command of Commander Wes Wilson. The ceremony began with the raising of the flag and then the cadets led the students in the pledge of allegiance. What a wonderful way to show pride and respect for our country!

Pennies for a Cure!

Mrs. Iles’ first grade classroom is so excited about filling their Pennies for a Cure jar! Each child had a roll of pennies to pour in their jar this morning. Every class at Timber Creek Elementary is competing with each other to raise the most money for Relay for Life.

TAKS Parent Night at LIS
Tuesday, November 27
5:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Come join us for our TAKS Parent Night on Tuesday, November 27th at 5:00 p.m. Our parents and students will meet in their teachers’ classrooms where TAKS strategies for reading, math, writing and science will be shared. (Child care will be provided in the library for younger siblings.) The evening will conclude with a free pizza dinner in the cafeteria and a drawing for an iPod. The class with the most students represented will also win an ice cream party at school. There will even be a parent drawing for a Wal-Mart Gift Card. |

Christmas Card Campaign

Several High School classes and LHS student council are creating and collecting Christmas Cards to send to our local servicemen /women through the F.A.I.T.H. Military Support Group. Bea Ellis said that as long as we could get the cards to her by November 30th they can get them sent in the Christmas packages to the troups. Mr. Scoggin has challenged us to have more than 1200 cards!
F.A.I.T.H. Military Support

Bea Ellis visited with LHS Student Council at their meeting on Tuesday, November 6th. She explained the F.A.I.T.H. Military Support Group and the items that they collect to send to our local servicemen and women. The Student Council will be kicking off a collection contest between second period classes beginning Monday, November 12th through Friday, November 30th. The student council will serve breakfast to the winning class who collects the most items.

Instructions
| 1. |
Heat oven to 325ºF. Grease bottom only of round pan, 9x1 1/2 inches, with shortening. Make brownie mix as directed on package, using water, oil and eggs. Pour into pan. Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out almost clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour. |

In medium bowl, beat butter, powdered sugar and vanilla with spoon until smooth. Stir in milk until spreadable. Stir in food color. Spread frosting evenly over brownies. |

To serve, cut into 8 wedges. Decorate wedges with candies to look like Christmas tree lights. Center pretzel nugget on bottom edge of each brownie wedge for tree trunk. |
