Why we Lion Report?
The Livingston Independent School District is yours. It belongs to the students, the parents, and the community. The Lion Report is our way of reaching our many members through positive communication and ideas to make life better for our local young people. In Livingston, our greatest strength is our community, and we want everyone to be able to share in the power of education and the local schools. Tale of the Whale
Submitted by Deborah Davis, Livingston High School, October 8, 2008
Livingston - Students in Deborah Davis's class took a whale on a trip. Using the metric system, the students had to measure distance, direction and do conversions. As he traveled over the ocean (a sheet of paper 14" by 18"), the whale encountered several places and sights. The students had to draw in those places and their tales turned out fabulous!  The projects are currently on display at Livingston High School.

Going the Distance in Science
Submitted by Doreen Quibodeaux, Livingston Junior High School, October 8, 2008
Livingston - Sixth graders explore the relationship between friction and speed in a Lab called Science Friction.  Using different surfaces such as bubble wrap (so tempting to pop!), wax paper, and sandpaper as the variable, the students determined which one gave the greatest speed for a toy car. Students had to calculate speed using distance and time measurements and draw conclusions about the effect of friction on motion. Sure, it was a sacrifice...but all in the name of Science!
