The Livingston Independent School District and the Livingston community recognizes the importance of encouraging our students to pursue education beyond their high school diploma. This commitment to higher education and vocational training is the driving force behind the LISD Green and White Scholarship Program.

Green and White is a program that assists local community organizations and individuals with setting up scholarships to award our graduating seniors. Each year our program assists these groups to organize criteria, write scholarship descriptions, and efficiently target

In the fall of each school year, the LISD Community Services Office creates a booklet describing and listing the scholarships available from Community Organizations and individuals and distributes the booklets to our graduating seniors. Each senior is encouraged to fill out an application and apply for all those scholarships that they consider themselves to be eligible to receive.

Throughout the next few months, organizations participating in the Green and White Scholarship Program view those applications applicable to their scholarship selections.

The end result of this process is out Community Honors Night which is held each year for the students to receive notice of which scholarships they receive. The Green and White Program is part of a long tradition of the Livingston community and LISD supporting the efforts of our citizens to reach their higher goals of education.

Scholarship Applications and booklets will be released during the month of November 2009.  Please check with your school counselors for the date of scholarship booklet distribution.
