Bad Weather Notifications

LISD Weather Alerts

The district makes the safety of the stakeholders a priority in all decisions of school closure and weather-related matters. Livingston Independent School District covers over 300 square miles of local geography, and while in some cases school may operate as scheduled, the district reminds everyone to never jeopardize safety.  It is recommended to check the TXDOT website or the Polk County Sheriff’s Department social media page on specific road closures. Always exercise extreme caution in weather-related matters.

Information regarding school closings or schedule changes due to bad weather events or loss of electricity will be shared in the following order.

The district superintendent will issue a school alert or school closing, and district employees will first be notified through a district email.

In the event the district needs to delay the start of classes, or cancel classes, the information will be posted on the front of the district website as well as each campus website.
