LHSA Graduation Information

 

2022 LHSA GRADUATION GUIDELINES

 

STUDENT REMINDERS: 

  • You are required to follow school rules during graduation. Please exhibit appropriate behavior.

  Participation in the graduation ceremony is a privilege, not a right. This privilege may be revoked at any time prior to the ceremony. Students who exhibit inappropriate behavior during the ceremony may be escorted out and will not receive their diploma that day. Also, please remind your guests that graduation is a dignified occasion. All guests are encouraged to respect others by remaining seated throughout the entire ceremony. It is important to be as quiet as possible, so that others can hear the names as they are called.

  • Any student who owes equipment or money will not be allowed to walk at graduation. Your diploma will be held until the fine is paid or equipment turned in. If you owe for: equipment, text book, dual credit course or any kind of fine (i.e. library) you must clear the fine before walking at graduation..

  • Cap and gown MAY NOT be altered in any way.

  • You are not allowed to carry anything during the processional;  leave all personal items (keys, phones, etc) with a family member.

  • You will be allowed 8 guests on graduation day. Your guests must arrive with you and enter together



 

GRADUATION DRESS CODE:     SCHOOL DRESS CODE WILL BE ENFORCED

Female Students:

  • Dress or skirt  (not longer than your gown) in dress code

  • Dark dress pants/slacks- NO JEANS (solid colors only-no distracting colors)

  • Dress shoes- NO ATHLETIC SHOES OR FLIP FLOPS Wear appropriate shoes (you will be climbing steps and walking across the stage).

  • Body piercing adornments are not permitted and must be removed except for earrings girls only

  • Fad colors of hair dye, extreme hairstyles, mohawks, spiked, or shaven design type cuts are inappropriate for school and will not be allowed. Hair must be of a natural color.

Male Students:

  • White button-up dress shirt with collar.

  • Dark-colored necktie.

  • Dark dress pants/slacks- NO JEANS (solid colors only-no distracting colors)

  • Dress shoes- NO ATHLETIC SHOES, SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS. Wear appropriate shoes (you will be climbing steps and walking across the stage).

  • Facial hair on male high school students is permitted as long as it remains neat and trimmed to allow a length no longer than one-quarter (1/4) inch. Sideburns must not exceed the bottom of the earlobe.

  • Fad colors of hair dye, extreme hairstyles, mohawks, spiked, or shaven design type cuts are inappropriate for school and will not be allowed. Your hair must be of natural color. Hair length  shall not extend below the collar. Braids and ponytails are permitted but must follow hair length policy.

  • Body piercing adornments are not permitted, including earrings.

 

**School administrators have FINAL SAY in determining/enforcing all aspects of dress/grooming code AND have the authority to rule on situations not addressed in the dress/grooming code**



 

GRADUATION DAY:    May 27th, 2022  6:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m.

  • Once you arrive at the auditorium,  you will immediately report to your seat, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE FOR ANY REASON.

  • YOU MAY WEAR YOUR CAP/GOWN BUT IT MUST NOT BE ZIPPED. Adminstrators will be checking for any belongings.

  • You are not allowed to carry anything across the stage, and you will walk by yourself.

  • ALL personal belongings brought must be given to a family member before you report to the gym

  • A professional photographer will take a picture of each graduate receiving their diploma, personal ceremony pictures may be taken from the spectator’s seats.

  • During the ceremony, you will receive a diploma cover while crossing the stage, IT WILL NOT CONTAIN YOUR DIPLOMA. Your diploma will be under your seat. Be sure to take your bag/envelope with you.

           DIPLOMAS CANNOT BE DUPLICATED, PLEASE KEEP YOURS IN A SAFE PLACE

  • After graduation, you will be dismissed to meet your family.

 

 

 


 

PROHIBITED ITEMS for PARTICIPANTS AND SPECTATORS INCLUDE:

  • Any noise making device (such as horns, bells, whistles, etc.)

  • Any nuisance item (such as “silly string”, latex balloons, mylar balloons, beach balls, cardboard cut-outs, etc. )

  • Tobacco, vapes, alcohol, drugs, weapons, fireworks, etc.
