LISD Weather Alerts

The district makes the safety of our stakeholders a priority in all decisions of school closure and weather-related matters.  Our district covers over 300 square miles of local geography and while in some cases school may operate as scheduled the district reminds everyone to never jeopardize your safety. We recommend checking the TXDOT website or the Polk County Sheriff’s Department social media page on specific road closures.  Always exercise extreme caution in weather-related matters.

Information regarding school closings or schedule changes due to bad weather events or loss of electricity will be shared in the following order.

Our superintendent will issue a school alert or school closing and district employees will first be notified through a district email.

In the event the district needs to delay the start of classes or cancel classes, the information will be posted on the front of the district website – as well as each campus website.
