Sanders to join TEA Teacher Leadership Fellowship

Creekside Elementary 3rd-grade teacher Samantha Sanders has been selected to join the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Teacher Leadership Fellowship (TLF). The TLF is a highly selective two-year fellowship designed to strengthen teacher leadership pathways at the state level and increase meaningful opportunities for teachers to shape the profession.
The TLF meets virtually once a month. In the monthly meetings, fellows engage with educators across the state as well as TEA leadership to provide input on strategic initiatives. Additionally, fellows receive leadership training on skills aligned to teacher leadership competencies.
There were a total of 747 applications that were submitted, 173 candidates were interviewed, and 25 new fellows were accepted. The process involved an individual interview and a group interview that included a sample task intended to assess leadership, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills aligned to the Teacher Leadership Fellowship competencies.
Congratulations, Samantha Sanders!
