LISD Education Foundation Board

The Livingston ISD Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit 501(3)c charitable organization, overseen by a volunteer board of directors.

The mission of the newly formed Livingston ISD Education Foundation is to connect community resources to change the lives of our students and staff.

The goals and funding priorities of the Education Foundation include:

  • Expand on the Green and White Student Scholarships
  • Innovative Teaching Grants
  • Recognition of Academic Achievement
  • Recognition of Teaching Excellence
  • Capital Projects

The Livingston ISD Education Foundation was formed with the guidance and direction of Foundation Innovation, LLC.  Foundation Innovation is a full-service consulting firm dedicated to guiding education foundations and schools to success.  Their team of consultants has experience in the nonprofit arena, including administration, development, marketing, and training specifically for public education foundations.

In collaboration with Foundation Innovation, the Livingston Education Foundation has established a Board of Directors, nominated by a steering committee of LHS alumni and community members. This board has assigned officer roles and responsibilities and has established the necessary bylaws. The Education Foundation is eagerly anticipating its role in enhancing the instructional schematic within our Livingston schools.

The Education Foundation will serve as an overarching entity with two distinct branches designed to support our community and district. One primary area of focus will be the continuation of the well-established Green & White Scholarship program. For many years, this scholarship has provided thousands of dollars to graduating seniors, helping them achieve their post-secondary goals, whether they attend a four-year university or enroll in vocational training schools and programs. The Education Foundation is committed to ensuring the Green & White Scholarship program remains as strong and comprehensive as it is today.

The second major initiative of the Education Foundation is to provide a new enhancement for our district instructional staff. The Foundation will offer teaching grants to classroom teachers to support innovative practices that optimize the student experience, both in and out of the classroom. These grants are designed to support activities that go beyond the scope of regular classroom budgets. Grant proposals will be reviewed to verify their alignment with existing curriculum and instruction standards and to ascertain any essential technology support requirements.

The Education Foundation is currently embarking on a crucial phase, actively welcoming inaugural financial contributions. These vital donations are sought from both our esteemed corporate sponsors and members of the wider LISD community and alumni organizations. We are excited about the significant impact these early contributions will have, as they are essential to building the initial endowment that will fund our future initiatives. Our ambitious, eagerly anticipated goal is to begin distributing the first grant awards to support innovative educational projects at the start of the 2026-2027 school year. This milestone will mark the realization of our mission to enhance educational opportunities for our current students and educators, and to continue supporting our graduates.
